These ropes are resistant to UV rays and are extruded in a variety of colours. The ropes have an excellent resistance to abrasion, as well as to shock loading. The ropes perform very well on line haulers and are particularly well suited for use in small individual trap fishing applications. The ropes have a slippery smooth finish and are easy to handle. Polyethylene does not however have the same tenacity as Polysteel and when used in a similar application, a larger diameter polyethylene rope must be used.

Polyethylene ropes manufactured at Southern Ropes exceed both the British and European Standard published by the European Committee for Standardization, or CEN (BS EN 943:2002).
